I found this wooden bowl at Goodwill for $4 last week, and with those fantastic round designs all over it, I couldn’t pass it up. (Name that wood, anyone?) I filled it with the treasures I found during our recent trip to the beach.

I love the dappled appearance of that wood! Is it the wood or the finish that does that?
Toilet tanks are indeed a great spot. I was lamenting just last night that the towel bar is hung too low in my bathroom, leaving just about four unobstructed inches below my hand towels – not enough space to store or display anything. *le sigh*
I feel your pain. We’re in the middle of a bathroom remodel, one of the updates being moving the towel bar from where it lived about 2 feet above the toilet!
As for the mystery of the bowl, I can’t tell if the design was somehow added… I’m thinking it’s not part of the grain, b/c what kind of tree grows like that??
Ooooo, I LOVE that bowl! I wonder if it’s teak wood – color seems right but the round designs throw me.
Isn’t it wonderful? That’s what I love about thrift stores… you never know what you’re going to find that you didn’t know you needed.:) Teak.. that’s a good guess. The color is right, I think.
