So long, lousy plastic!
As I’ve started my own collection of Christmas ornaments (mostly balls), I’ve just stored them in their original plastic packaging. But it’s a lousy system because, for one, it was always a battle of the wills getting them back in exactly as they came; plus they’re cumbersome, the lids always pop off, and they take up lots of (oddly shaped) space.
This year I converted to shoe boxes. I put matching ornaments in their own shoe boxes, labeled them, and put all the shoe boxes in larger boxes for the attic. I even saw someone put ornaments in a gallon ziplock, which accomplishes the same goal of easy storage that doesn’t take much room.
